Calke again

We went to Calke on a wondrous sunny autumn day. Investigating the orangery, with its exotic blooms and crumbling plasterwork.

and nerines flowering outside.

Then round to the garden with its old worksheds, with flowers in the window, ancient cupboards still with plant labels and antique gardening equipment hung up as if ready to use.

Then past the dahlias, which looked marvelous, to the walled garden with flowers growing around the outside edges/

Most of the apples have been picked but some remain high up n the branches.

And doubling back to the auricula theatre with its display of pumpkins and apples, and its own scarecrow
