On Monday Norfolk's blue skies and sunshine followed me back as far as Belton. The trip home isn't long - three hours at most - but it's still nice to break the journey, and it was a beautiful afternoon for a walk around the gardens.
Spring seems to have suddenly pushed forward this weekend, with a couple of days of sunshine bringing daffodils into flower everywhere.
Soon this area beneath the trees will be a sea of nodding yellow heads.
And without many people around - after all a Monday afternoon in early spring is hardly peak visitor time - and it was almost possible to imagine having the grounds to yourself.
