First Bluebells - and other wild flowers

Another sunny afternoon, another lazy walk - this time round our local hemmed-in-by-housing wood. It's an old wood, noted for its wonderful bluebell carpet in late spring, adopted now by the council's parks department, and becoming increasingly 'civilised' and tamed.

I'd gone in search of wood anemones, thinking I might be a little late to find them as the weather has been so nice. I thought there might even be some early bluebell buds, but was totally surprised to find some already in flower!

Not many around yet, but they're a sure sign that Spring is advancing, despite the chilly nights.

And I wasn't too late for anemones!

Elsewhere, there were daisies, cowslips and speedwell hiding in the grass, blue skies above, and blossom and leaves emerging on tress.
