A Flying Visit to Norfolk - part 1- Wells-next-the-Sea

It's hard to believe that barely over a week ago we were heading to Norfolk under glorious blue skies.

For once we stayed by the sea - or as near as possible in Wells-next-the-Sea, where the town sits a mile inland.

Ambling about here and there meant it was past sunset before we started to walk out along the embankment to the sea but the lovely sunset shone enough light for us to find the way.

and the quayside light looked stunning on the way back.

Next morning we were out and about before breakfast giving us the chance to explore the quayside and  streets in peace and quiet.

I've never seen Wells so empty! We almost had it all to ourselves.

We didn't manage to find out what this guy - a pirate, we assumed - had done to offend people though.
